In honor of it’s launch, we’re sharing some fun information provided by Nicollete Perry, PhD for Healthline. Lavender is traditionally a Mediterranean herb, but it’s now widespread across the world. The historical use for this herb is neverending. One of the most notable historical uses is for love. It’s said that Cleopatra used lavender to seduce Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. You go, girl.

Lavender has also been used to protect against “evil spirits” and was hung above doorways. “We know now it’s a strong antimicrobial that may help prevent certain diseases, but back then the idea was that lavender protected against evil fits.” (Source: Healthline). 

It is also said that Queen Elizabeth I of England would have fresh lavender in her space every single day. Total royalty vibes! 

One of the most well known historical uses that is still practiced today is lavender’s ability to help us all chill. Studies have shown lavender, the herb itself, can help calm and lift moods, enhance sleep, relieve pain and more.
