There’s nothing quite like fall. This season is uniquely cozy, yet whimsical. The darker evenings and cool nights give a new experience to nighttime. Evenings have more of a glow as both light and warmth are needed.

The vibe of fall can be applied to almost anything. Even vintage glass! At Cultivated Candle Co., we work with over 20 vintage glass patterns for our Monthly Antique Candle Uploads.

We’ve lined up our top four vintage patterns that work perfect with fall decor. We’re talking that mix of whimsical and cozy!

Daisy & Button

The Daisy & Button pattern is one of our favorite vintage patterns. Traditional and detailed. Groovy yet refined. Highly produced in the 1960s, the Daisy & Button pattern was representative of the time. This pattern is highly detailed with buttons that surround geometric flowers, making for a beautiful aura when burning as an antique candle. The Daisy & Button pattern dates back as far as the 19th century and extends through mid-century, with the latter being what Cultivated Candle Co. works with.

A harvest-themed pattern - Such a DUH for a fall decor fave. The Harvest & Grape pattern is a retro take on the classic grapes and leaves design. This pattern can be found primarily with milk glass and carnival glass, which work perfectly with the style. For the Indiana Glass Company that we mentioned in a previous blog, the Harvest Grape pattern was the most popular design in their carnival glass revival in the 1970s, according to Carnival Glass Worldwide. Milk glass variations were made shortly after.

A fun quote on this pattern variation in carnival glass:

“The Carnival Glass made during the Seventies was “of its time” and today it’s retro, it’s nostalgic, it is so deliciously typical of its era.” - Carnival Glass Worldwide

Moon & Stars

Is it really spooky season without the moon? Bold and retro, the Moon & Stars pattern is a natural fit for fall. According to the Moon & Star Glass Club, this pattern was historically one of the most popular designs during mid-century. So popular that over six different glass companies made this pattern from the late 19th century through the 1970s. We can’t disagree! It’s star-like design and round depression that resembles the moon have made it a favorite pattern at Cultivated Candle Co. The Moon & Star pattern is commonly paired with vibrant colors, which makes it even more fun for Halloween.

Oak Leaf

You know we love our fall season in the Midwest. We named one of our Fall Collection candles after it for goodness sake! Native to North America, oak trees give us a beautiful show as leaves begin to change. Bold reds and oranges take over the classic oak leaf shape. The Oak Leaf pattern on vintage glass is a natural fit for fall decor, especially for outdoor enthusiasts. Originating from the 1970s, a groovy, nostalgic vibe is carried with this pattern.

While these four vintage patterns work great anytime of year for retro decor, we especially love them for fall.
