A Reflection on Two Years of Cultivated Candle Co.

Two years. 730 days. Whoa - Cultivated Candle Co. has officially made it to it’s terrible twos. 

I’ll stop be cheesy for this (maybe). The fact is, I’m a big cheese-ball right now because Cultivated Candle Co. celebrates its second-year anniversary this Tuesday 10/22. All the emotions are setting in!

It feels like all the vintage candle goodness from Cultivated Candle Co. started last month. But it also feels like it’s been longer than just a few years because of how much has evolved with CCC. The company feels ingrained in us, almost like it’s always been a part of our lives. As full-time entrepreneurs, Cultivated Candle Co. IS a huge part of our life. Everyday we are thinking all things wax, aroma, vintage and cozy. It’s pretty magical if I say so myself! 

A lot has happened in two years. We’ve created over 40 hand-blended scents and hand-poured almost 10,000 all natural soy candles! This equates to roughly 13,000 lbs of all natural soy wax. Not to mention, the complete re-styling and name changes with our candles. Did you know that in 2017 we had a candle named Democracy? L-O-L. We were trying to go for an Americana theme. But, hey, I think from there we moved in the right direction!

Sit down for this one. In the past two years we’ve hand-selected over 2,000 vintage pieces. It’s been so fun to bring you along on our vintage hauls in IG Stories! If you’re not already following the fun on Instagram, please do! I truly can’t believe it’s been over 2,000 vintage pieces we’ve brought home but it makes sense. We’re known as regulars at our antique malls in the central Ohio area, which is another enriching part of the CCC journey. Our vintage candles have been collected from 30 different antique malls and stores across Ohio, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. 

All of these memories, changes and pieces of the CCC story have one thing to thank - YOU! Relationships we’ve built with our loyal customers, messages and interactions we’ve shared, stories we’ve told and more are things you just can’t measure. The support that we’ve felt from you over these past two years has been incredible. Something that I couldn’t have even dreamed of when first launching Cultivated Candle Co. We truly have the kindest (and most fun!) customers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support of our small business. 

I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes Cultivated Candle Co. what it is. As we’ve grown, our core values have naturally bloomed. I haven’t approved this with my biz partner (hehe sorry Jer), but I’d like to believe our core values include kindness, fun and authenticity. You guys are a big part of what makes these values shine - Thank you so much for being YOU! These core values, the magic of aroma and love for vintage are what makes Cultivated Candle Co. what it is today.

So, we’re just now entering our twos and we’re so excited for the upcoming year. It’s an honor to have you as a part of this journey. Cheers to the future!
